The share of unemployed Roma is around 25%, according to the latest national survey of Trust for Social Achievment Foundation conducted last year, focusing on the financial needs of vulnerable communities in the country. 10% of Roma of working age are women, housewives, who are a “hidden” labour market potential.

Despite the increased flow of migration, the Covid crisis, which has temporarily negatively impacted economic development, and the war in Ukraine, the data unequivocally prove the steady trend of employment among the Roma community in Bulgaria.
