How can employers become more attractive to young people? – Interview of Vesislava Zheleva with Vanya Koleva – Human Resources Manager of WePrevent

Vesislava Zheleva – Coordinator of the project “First Steps for Professional Development” – Sofia Veliko Tarnovo, TSA, interviewed Vanya Koleva – Human Resources Manager of WePrevent Veliko Tarnovo. The topics are the specifics of HR work in the field of video surveillance, the applications of the lie detector in HR and the challenges facing young people in the labor market?

Vesislava Zheleva is Project Coordinator of Earning by Learning at Trust for Social Alternative Foundation in Veliko Tarnovo and part of the HR team of MentorMate where she works as an Office Assistant. In the last one year she has been developing the Foundation’s activities in Veliko Tarnovo and the region as a new location. Her role involves recruiting and providing mentoring support for the professional development of disadvantaged young people. From meeting with socially responsible employers to organising events to develop the local community to conducting targeted one-to-one consultations with young people, Vesislava works towards improving the marketability of people from economically vulnerable groups.

Vanya Koleva is Human Resources Manager at WePrevent Bulgaria from September 2021. In this role, she is responsible for the growth of the team (from 80 to 160 people in 2 years), employee satisfaction and the implementation of the HR part of EN50518 – the European standard for a Video Surveillance and Alarm Headquarters, the first of its kind in the Balkans – in Veliko Tarnovo. Vanya also has 7 years of experience as Corporate Account Manager and Polygraphist at the Lie Detector Center for Psychophysiological Research. There she was involved in solving numerous cases of various Bulgarian and international companies related to employee loyalty (workplace abuse, theft, export of confidential information, etc.) and employee selection. She has been a certified polygraph examiner since 2017 by the American Polygraph Association with Advanced Polygraph Examiner continuing training from The Backster School of Lie Detection. He has a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing and a Master’s degree in Finance.
