On 21.6.2021 under Earning by Learning project 10 students from the Vocational School of Industrial Technology in Pazardzhik had the opportunity to visit the production facility of one of the largest employers in the country – Liebherr-Hausgeräte Marica and to find out more about the career opportunities for young professionals that the company offers.
The young people, who are studying in the specialties of “Heat Engineering – Thermal, Air Conditioning, Ventilation and Refrigeration” and “Automated Systems”, got acquainted in detail with the organization and flow of the production process in all 5 production departments of Liebherr (1. Metals, 2. 3. 4. Final Assembly and 5. Component Manufacturing Department). The students observed in a real-time and working environment the processes of fabricating refrigerator doors and sides, preparing the plastic parts, filling the appliance housings, and the assembly and assembly processes. The different types of machines in the departments were also shown, with emphasis on the difference in their productivity, and the specifics of the different types of jobs according to the professional qualifications were explained.
The visit thematically continued with a visit to the Training Centre of the enterprise, where the young people were presented with various opportunities for starting a professional career, including a 1-year vocational training, which implies starting positions “Mechanic” or “Machine and Equipment Operator”. The young people were also presented with detailed information about the company’s scholarship and internship programmes. Through these initiatives, the company aims to attract young and motivated people on whom it can rely in the long term. The meeting ended with the assurance from the hosts that all young people with a desire for work and career and educational development are welcome in the company as their personal progress depends on their efforts and motivation.
