Participants from Sofia on a working visit to LIDL logistics center and warehouse

In January 2024 12 participants from Employment and Entrepreneurship Programme from Sofia visited LIDL-Bulgaria logistics centre and warehouse near Ravno Pole village. During the working visit the youth had the opportunity to meet Mr. Georgi Chichikov, warehouse manager, who briefly presented them the history of the warehouse and the job opportunities. The young people made a familiarization tour of the warehouse and received detailed information about the working conditions of the warehouse employees, the coordination between the working departments, details about the structure of the warehouse premises and the logistics processes, the standards, policies and regulatory rules of LIDL, the challenges and opportunities for work and development there. The working visit ended with a presentation of the company by Ms. Raya Tsvetkova (Employer Branding Manager) about LIDL an employer, the conditions for application and the programs offered.

The company has been awarded the “Recommended Employer” certificate. The chain, which ranks first in Europe and fourth in the world, has established itself as one of the leading retail chains in the country, with a particular contribution to the national economy. Today it has 124 stores in 54 cities and over 3,700 employees. The logistics centre in S. Ravno pole is the first warehouse of the chain in Bulgaria, built in 2009, with a total built-up area of 53 000 sq.m., with 163 loading ramps, and to date the warehouse employs over 230 employees from Sofia, Pernik, Botevgrad, Ihtiman and nearby settlements. The warehouse can handle 5,500 pallets on a daily basis. The logistics base is responsible for the daily replenishment of over 65 stores in 24 cities in Western Bulgaria and Sofia.
